1. Acceptance of Terms
By downloading, installing, or using the Seed Sown mobile application ("App"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use the App.
2. Description of Service
Seed Sown is a gardening companion app that allows you to track plants, scan seed packets with AI, log harvests, manage seed inventory, set reminders, and participate in a gardening community. The App is available for iOS devices.
3. Account Registration
To use certain features, you must create an account. You agree to:
- Provide accurate and complete information
- Maintain the security of your account credentials
- Notify us immediately of any unauthorized access
- Accept responsibility for all activity under your account
4. Sown Pro Subscription
4.1 Subscription Plans
Seed Sown offers a premium subscription ("Sown Pro") with monthly and yearly plans. Sown Pro provides access to additional features including unlimited plants, unlimited AI scans, advanced analytics, data export, and priority support.
4.2 Billing & Renewal
- Subscriptions are billed through your Apple ID account via the App Store
- Subscriptions automatically renew unless canceled at least 24 hours before the end of the current billing period
- Your account will be charged for renewal within 24 hours prior to the end of the current period
4.3 Cancellation
You may cancel your subscription at any time through your App Store account settings. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period. No refunds are provided for partial periods.
4.4 Price Changes
We may change subscription prices with notice. Price changes take effect at the start of the next billing period following the date of the change.
5. User Content
5.1 Your Content
You retain ownership of the content you create in the App, including garden data, photos, harvest logs, and community posts ("User Content"). By posting User Content to community features, you grant us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to display that content within the App to other users.
5.2 Content Guidelines
When using community features, you agree not to post content that:
- Is illegal, harmful, threatening, abusive, or harassing
- Contains spam, advertising, or promotional material
- Infringes on intellectual property rights of others
- Contains malicious code or harmful links
- Impersonates another person or entity
- Contains explicit, obscene, or offensive material
5.3 Content Removal
We reserve the right to remove any User Content that violates these Terms or our community guidelines, at our sole discretion and without prior notice.
6. AI Seed Scanner
The AI seed scanning feature uses optical character recognition to extract information from seed packet labels. While we strive for accuracy:
- Results are provided for informational purposes and may contain errors
- Always verify scanned information against the physical seed packet
- We are not responsible for planting outcomes based on scan results
- Free users are limited to 3 scans per month; Sown Pro subscribers have unlimited scans
7. Weather Data
Weather information and gardening suggestions are provided for general guidance only. We do not guarantee the accuracy of weather forecasts or planting recommendations. Always use your own judgment and consult local agricultural resources.
8. Intellectual Property
The App, including its design, features, code, and branding, is owned by Seed Sown and protected by intellectual property laws. You may not copy, modify, distribute, or reverse-engineer any part of the App.
9. Prohibited Uses
You agree not to:
- Use the App for any unlawful purpose
- Attempt to gain unauthorized access to the App's systems or other users' accounts
- Interfere with or disrupt the App's functionality
- Scrape, mine, or extract data from the App
- Use automated systems or bots to access the App
- Resell or commercially exploit the App without authorization
10. Disclaimers
THE APP IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, WHETHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED. WE DISCLAIM ALL WARRANTIES INCLUDING MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT.
We do not warrant that:
- The App will be uninterrupted, error-free, or secure
- AI scan results will be accurate or complete
- Weather data or gardening suggestions will be reliable
- User Content in the community is accurate or safe to follow
11. Limitation of Liability
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, SEED SOWN SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, INCLUDING LOSS OF DATA, CROP LOSS, OR GARDENING FAILURES, ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF THE APP.
Our total liability for any claim arising from these Terms shall not exceed the amount you paid for the App in the 12 months preceding the claim.
12. Account Termination
We may suspend or terminate your account if you violate these Terms. You may delete your account at any time through the App settings. Upon deletion, your data will be permanently removed within 30 days, as described in our Privacy Policy.
13. Modifications to Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by posting a notice in the App. Your continued use after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
14. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the United States. Any disputes arising from these Terms shall be resolved in the courts of competent jurisdiction.
15. Apple App Store Terms
These Terms are between you and Seed Sown, not Apple. Apple has no obligation to furnish maintenance or support services for the App. In the event of any failure to conform to applicable warranties, you may notify Apple for a refund of the purchase price (if any); Apple has no other warranty obligation. Apple is not responsible for addressing claims related to the App or your use of it.
